Over the weekend, we had the pleasure of checking out an AWESOME new spot in the Chewelah area. This wonderful little town has been evolving over the last few years. From the construction of the new Mistequa Hotel and Casino to the major upgrades 49 Degrees North has, and continues to make, Chewelah is well on its way to becoming a great spot for recreation, no matter the season! Now with the opening of Andie’s Sandwich and Sports on Main Avenue, we finally have our home base in between all the action.
What we enjoyed:
~Gyro Sandwich Special
~Club Sandwich
~Nachos
~Huckleberry Margarita
~Mai Tai

Kyla, the head chef, created an amazing special that day: the gyro sandwich. She sautéed large, juicy chunks of steak, which she layered on top of pita bread and spinach. She topped it off with a Mediterranean pico de Gallo that had feta, red onion, and tomatoes. She created her own strawberry balsamic glaze to drizzle on top. It was kind of like a Mediterranean taco and it could not have been better. The flavors were the perfect balance of fresh, fruity, and savory.

Andie's Sandwich

Zack ordered the club sandwich and it had so many layers! When they served it to us, they said they got their inspiration from Scooby Doo, and it definitely showed. It was loaded with all the classics: turkey, ham, bacon, cheese and lettuce.

After a couple of drinks, we decided we wanted to snack, so we ordered their nachos. You can choose between ground beef or chicken. We went with chicken. The dish was loaded with black beans, olives, tomato, onion, jalapeños, and, of course, chicken. It was served with a side of guacamole and sour cream and it was just what we needed!

They have a wide selection of beers and ciders. We started off with a beer and a cider, but they also have a full bar, so we decided to try out some cocktails. They had mango or huckleberry flavoring for their margaritas. I decided to go with huckleberry, seeing as it’s huckleberry season. Justin, the bartender, did a great job of making the drinks sweet, but not overly sweet. Zack couldn’t decide what to get so I ordered a Mai tai for him and honestly it was the best Mai tai we’ve had, except for maybe in Hawaii. They even put a little umbrella in his drink.

The service was excellent. Bethany, our waitress was attentive and sweet and even had us say cheers when she brought us our drinks. The other waitresses, Ursula and Sarah, helped check up on us and made sure we were completely taken care of.

When we first walked in, Zack and I were blown away by how spacious the dining area was. The perspective from outside does NOT do it justice. It’s obvious that a lot of thought and consideration was put into the layout of the space. Andie’s features not just a couple, not just a few, BUT 12 large, flat screen televisions along its walls with a giant TV in the center above the bar. They also have a lounge area with some couches and chairs and a beautiful fireplace built by local mason, Charlie Clardy.

The owners Andrea and Brian are passionate about what they do and it shows in every detail, from the menu, to the service, to the atmosphere. When you are up north, this place is a must stop> There’s no better place around to get a drink and a sandwich. They are open 10-10, 7 DAYS A WEEK!
