2015 Northeast Washington Farm Guide Available

Colville, WA – July 1, 2015 –

Where can you find details about more than 40 local farms and ranches that sell products fresh from their fields, pastures, and orchards? It’s all in the newly published 2015 Northeast Washington Farm to Table Buying Guide, available now at libraries, chambers of commerce, extension offices, and other locations in Stevens, Ferry, and Pend Oreille Counties. The farm list and an interactive map can also be found online at http://communityagcenter.org/where-to-buy/guide. Many of the listed producers have farm stands, shops, or special events for the public.

The farm guide also has info on farmers markets, shops, and restaurants that sell or serve locally produced products. Some of these supporters of our region’s food products are China Bend Winery, Cup of Joy Coffee Shop & Café, Front Porch Farm store, Lovitt Restaurant, Meyers Falls Market, and Smokey Ridge Meats. Listed farmers markets are located in Chewelah, Clayton, Colville, and Kettle Falls .

The annual farm guide is published by the Community Agriculture Development Center (CADC), a nonprofit organization based in Colville that supports producers, informs consumers, and facilitates processing and distribution of local agricultural products in Northeast Washington . CADC owns two mobile WSDA-approved poultry/rabbit processing units and a stationary USDA-approved large livestock unit, all of which make it possible for small farms, ranches, and backyard producers to sell their products locally. For more info on the livestock units, local producers, and their products, visit http://communityagcenter.org or contact CADC at info@communityagcenter.org.
