We hope that you all had a splendid holiday, we sure did! However, after a few days spent with family we were ready for a date night.
I have been wanting to check out Wiley’s for a while now so we decided to splurge and it definitely rocked our world from presentation to flavor to service.

What we ate
~Prawns
~Braised Short Ribs
~Daily Soup (Corn Chowder)
~Jalapeño Chicken Chowder
~Mud Pie
~Fish Bowl (drink)
~Chocolate Martini (drink)

My prawns were well seasoned and the colors on the plate were BEAUTIFUL, I especially loved the contrast between the blue rice cake and red cabbage slaw. The raspberry chili sauce was the perfect zesty touch that really made the flavors come together. I have eaten so much heavy food I wanted something refreshing and this was perfect!

Zack’s short ribs were rich and wonderful. They were a boneless cut which made them easier to eat, especially in an upscale restaurant. He is an American food man and this totally hit the spot. The ribs had a pot roast style flavor that paired excellent with the potatoes and gravy.

The soups were delicious, we decided to get both to share but Zack ended up loving the corn chowder. The jalapeño soup was right up my alley, it had plenty of spice in it, so much it actually gave me the hiccups but it fit my palette to a tee. Both chowders were nice and thick with lots of chunks.

After our amazing entrees we couldn’t not get dessert and that was one of the best decisions we made all day. They use espresso ice cream and layer it on top of fudge and cookie crumble then top it with whip cream!!

Our AMAZING server Bailey helped me choose a cocktail. I like gin so she recommended the fish bowl which had gin(obviously) with lemonade, club soda, and orange. It was fruity and delicious and served in an adorable fish bowl glass.

Zack will always get an espresso or chocolate martini if it’s on the menu and as usual, he LOVED it. The perfect balance of booze and chocolate.

They were featuring artist Sara Conybeer and she does amazing work, we have attached her information in the pictures below, so you can browse/shop her gallery. If we had more space in our house we would have her artwork on display.

The ambiance was lovely, when you walk in you have a birds eye view of the kitchen and bar, there is also a small section of bar seating available. It is a small space but the way it is designed makes it feel much larger. The simplistic elegance was perfect for our date night. Plus, after you finish your dinner you can go explore all that downtown Spokane has to offer.

If your looking for a lunch spot fear not because Wiley’s also serves lunch from 11:30-2. Their menu features mouth watering options from a huckleberry burger to a Gorgonzola wrap to shrimp cocktails. There is truly something for everyone.

Michael Wiley the owner/chef recently took over Prohibition Gastropub and after the trip our taste buds took at Wiley’s we will definitely have to check it out!

All in all, Wiley’s is a wonderful spot for any occasion but especially for a romantic evening or celebration. You won’t be disappointed!
