It’s only the beginning of September, and we are already feeling the excitement and madness of this years’ fall event. The Mad Hatter Vintage Flea Market has become a much anticipated event featuring a select group of invited curators offering an assortment of lovely vintage goods, wonderful antiques, unique finds and handmade gifts. Shoppers will step into a whimsical storybook setting that will delight all your senses, and most importantly they will find an array of one-of-a-kind items, reclaimed and repurposed vintage finds, fabulous food, and live entertainment in one of the Northwest most beautiful seasons, which is of course our Indian Summers.

This year we are excited to announce we will be celebrating our eighth year of madness! It seems only appropriate that our vintage show takes place in a vintage setting….the Charming Five Mile Prairie Grange, where neighbors have been gathering for more than 85 years. We love the charm of this little grange, and our customers and the Five Mile community do as well. We cannot even begin to tell you how excited we both are to be planning and promoting for this years’ event!!

Our customers come to find inspiration to fulfill their own impossible dreams. As interior designers and avid “junkers” it gives us great satisfaction to be able to help people create homes with a style they love that makes a statement about who they are. We believe vintage style decorating offers a practical and elegant alternative to today’s fast-changing parade of interior trends. We believe comfort, simplicity, an appreciation for the imperfect, and a sense of practicality are the key elements to a timeless look for the home.

The Mad Hatter Vintage Flea Market gives us a chance to create a “wonderful experience” for our guests. This is not your Grandmother’s tea party! Each year in the fall, trucks and trailers are loaded up with vintage goods, some traveling hundreds of miles to take part in this “madness.” Together we create a community of like-minded friends and artists, all who share the love of
junking. It is then the transformation begins. Tents are set up and festooned beyond your wildest imagination into a deliciously magical setting. As we get ready for two days of inspiration, shopping, fun, food, and music and a few surprises! It doesn’t stop there, the transformation continues as our artists/curators don their wildest Mad Hatter and friends costumes and get into character…The crazier the better!! Our customers love the theater of our show as much as we love putting it on!!
The Mad Hatter is a beautiful collaborative effort, a celebration of things that have endured!!
