April’s Hometown Hero: Thai Johnson!

Thai Johnson is a father, a husband, and a friend to many. He has an interesting past like most of us but what makes him special is his ability to connect with the men in our MTFU group and their families when it is needed. Thai will go above and beyond to help his fellow man.

I met Thai when I was handing out items for our local homeless community here in Spokane. Thai pulled up in his car with cases of food and about 12 fully cooked chickens from Costco. He told me that while he travels (Thai travels a lot for work), he enjoys buying hot food and handing it out to those on the streets who may have gone a while without a hot meal. I knew that day that Thai was a special guy.

He consistently helps folks with groceries, gas money, interview clothes, or anything someone might need to get them through a tough time. He recently bought a meal at a locally owned burger joint and posted online “Whoever wants lunch, go to Wendi’s Drive-Thru and tell them Thai sent you!”. And sure enough, someone got to enjoy lunch on Thai. Thai is our hometown hero and the positivity and kindness he shares is contagious and people are now following his lead, Now THAT is how you make this world a better place!
